U.S. to move embassy to Jerusalem in May.

U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

The U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he would recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel in December 2017. Haaretz reported that the United States will open its new embassy in Jerusalem this May. The embassy will at first be located in the Arnona neighborhood in a building that handles consular affairs. U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman and a small staff will work there, according to Haaretz.

In actual facts, the future plans for the U.S. embassy are uncertain. US missions across the Middle East are braced for a second day of violent protests over Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital after widespread clashes between Palestinians and Israeli forces on Thursday.

The decision of US President Donald Trump to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital, has generated a series of reactions in Palestine and all over the globe. People want to know why does Donald Trump want to move the US embassy in Israel and why declaring Jerusalem capital of Israel.
